A really good book is "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech. It is about a girl who is traveling to Lewiston, Idaho with her grandparents using the same route that her mother used when she left her and her father. Along the journey, Sal tells her grandparents the story of Phoebe Winterbottom. As Sal tells the story, she finds her own story hidden beneath it. 5 out of 5 stars.

I love "Tennis" magazine! It is filed with the latest tennis news, things that ALL tennis fans should get, and even a "court of appeals" page where people ask if the calls made in a match they were playing in were correct. This month's issue included an article on Rafael Nadal and an article on how to celebrate National Tennis Month. I rate this 5 out of 5 stars.

A really good movie you should see is "Killers," starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher. It is about a woman who finds out her husband used to work for the FBI. After getting over that, she and her husband discover a 20 million dollar reward being given to the first person to kill her husband. 5 out of 5 stars!!! :)

Ironman 2 Review;

A big fan of Ironman myself, I liked the movie a lot. Even from the start, action took over the movie absorbing me in intense battle and awe-striking technology. Just like The first Ironman movie, it gave me a sense of desire to own/operate the Ironman suit which is probably what the producers aimed for. The plot was interesting, but not as complex and intruiging as the first Ironman movie. Even though there were minor setbacks about the movie, I still found it fun to watch and really cool. I think Ironman 2 deserves a 4 star rating because even though we knew what to expect and it wasn't great I think it was well made and deserves 4 stars.

Scat Review;
Author: Carl Hiaasen
This book has a complex plot, but that's what makes it so intruiging. Mrs. Starch, a very strict, no-nonsense teacher suddenly disappears after a arson is committed at a swamp they are visiting during a field trip. The author sprinkles in just enough foreshadowing to get you wondering, but not enough to lead on to the plot resolution. It is a very interesting book even for adults and is very well written. I think Scat should be a 4 and 1/2 star book because of it's well written story and intriguing plot.

Alex Rider: Crocodile Tears Review;
Author: Anthony Horowitz
I have loved all the Alex Rider books from the moment I picked them up. That is why this book was a tiny bit of a dissapointment. In every other book in the series, the action starts almost immediately sucking you into the book. In the last book, it took a lot longer to build up before the action started. Once it did start though, it was very interesting and thrilling just like the others. Besides the slow exposition though, it was a really good book with a cool almost Sherlock Holmes-like twist to it that resolves the whole conflict in a perfect way. I would give this book 4 stars because of it's intense action, but long build up.

Shoot for the Hoop Review;
Author: Matt Christopher
Shoot for the Hoop is an interesting story of a kid who has played basketball his whole life, and then finds out he has diabetes after an insulin reaction. He can then no longer play basketball because the doctor fears he may have another reaction so he is stuck reffing the pickup games he used to play in. It's about how he overcomes his disease and learns to be almost normal again. This is a good book although quite easy to read. I would probably give it a 3 and 1/2 stars because it was easy and there wasn't a cool twist of the plot in the end.

The Twenty One Balloons;
Author: William Pene du Bois
This is a Newbery award winning book about a man who wants to get away from society. He takes a trip in a hot air balloon storing it with supplies in hopes of staying airborne for a full year. I would give this a 4 and 1/2 stars out of 5 because of the descriptive language used.

Heatwave, by Richard Castle (I have no idea who the real author is)
First off, Richard Castle is not a real person. He is a character from the TV show Castle (which is about a mystery writer following a police squad). Now on to the book itself: 4 stars, Slow to start at first but it speeds up later on. Rook (The book's equivalent of Castle, I'll leave you to figure it out) is much more annoying than castle, and he's a journalist not a mystery writer. Overall, I really liked it and it's very good, especially if you like the show. E.Z.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
by Douglas Adams
5 out of 5 stars. This is the most hilarious book ever written. No exceptions (Well, except maybe the other books) best book I've ever read, I highly recommend this book. I have yet to read any of the other 5 in the increasingly misnomered trilogy, but I'll soon be reading Resturaunt at the end of the Universe, and I'll have the review here. Bottom line, READ THIS BOOK. E.Z.

Sherlock Holmes (Movie)
This is a really good movie. Holmes himself reminds me of Patrick Jane from the TV show The Mentalist (Which is awesome by the way). I'm curious if he was like that in the novels, as I've only read one of the short stories. My only complaint was, that they should have showed a glimpse of some of the "tricks" used for the very observant to possibly notice. Overall, 4.5 stars. E.Z.

Prince of Persia (Movie)
For those of you who don't know, Prince of Persia is based off of a video game. The movie, on the other hand, is not very true to the specific game it's based on (Or at least the beginning is not, I haven't gotten past the palace in the game). However, I still absolutely loved the movie. The ending was amazing, and I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes the game, and most everyone else. 4.25 stars, E.Z. On a mostly unrelated note, why can't we review videogames on here for points? =P

"Karate Kid" is a good movie! It is about how a young boy named Dre learned to let go of his old life & start a new one. In china, he wants others to respect him so he learns kung-fu to win the tournament & earns the respect for himself. 5 out of 5 stars.

The "A" Team is a really good movie. It's about a team of special operations military team that conducts extremely ridiculous plans that always work and do things for the government. It's really funny and has, seriously, non-stop action. There isn't a single part of the movie that doesn't have something involving guns or blowing things up. Some of the things said were a little hard to understand, but it was still really good. I think it deserves 4.5 stars.

The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket is another one of his great books in the series of unfortunate events. It is very intruiging (in the same manner Sherlock Holmes is) and is hard to figure out the answer to the mystery without some help. It had an interesting plot and was fun to read. 4 stars.

The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan is an interesting book about Percy Jackson a son of Poseidon. He goes on a quest with his friends to rescue his satyr friend, Grover, and steal the golden fleece to save his camp. It is really cool how the author adds in things that were written in original mythology and "bends" them into the story. Things that i recognize from myths were in the book and could make sense in your imagination. For example, the Sea of Monsters was a place where sailors and boats dissapeared and in the book it says mortals (us) called it the Bermuda triangle. It was a pretty good book and i think it was a 4 star book.

The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan is another really good book, but that I can't say much about it that's different than the first book. It was cool how he twisted Atlas holding up the heavens into the story and it kept me on the edge of my seat. It gets very exciting and is hard to put down and I would give it 4 stars.

The Battle of the Labrynth by ick Riordan was probably the best so far. It had a really unexpected twist about Daedulus and was really cool. Again he tied something from mythology into the story, and I think that was his goal. It was a really good book. 4.5 stars.

The A-Team review
The A-Team, based off of an '80s tv show of the same name if you did not know. The tv show is a bit cheesy, but i still love it =) Anyways, on to my review: It's about a team of army rangers who were dishonorably discharged, they got reinstated, then dishonorably discharged again and sent to prison. That sentence was probably very confusing, but let me explain: At the very beginning they are army rangers veterans who were wrongly dishonorably discharged, then they get reinstated, then they get discharged again and sent to prison. It's really, really, funny, especially Face. Face is hilarious. Actually, that can be said for every one of the A-Team. 5 out of 5 stars. E.Z.

"The Invention of Hugo Cabret" is an awesome book! It's about a boy whose uncle died and left him with a book of sketches and a broken machine. He lives in the Paris train station and works on the clocks. So, Hugo steals things from the booths in the station to fix this mysterious machine that will leave him with the biggest secret of his life. 5 out of 5 stars.

A really good book is Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors by Jenny Nimmo. It hook you, just like the others, right in the beginning. It is really hard to put down and pulls you into the story. The story of Charlie Bone is very interesting, and I have liked them since I started reading them. The story is about how Charlie's father has been kept from him by his evil grandmothers, kept in a hypnotic trance. It's really good and I think it deserves 4.5 stars.

Another great book in the series, Charlie Bone and the Hidden King by Jenny Nimmo, finishes off Charlies story in a great way. Throughout the books, things have gone wrong for Charlie. He's helped everyone else, but hasn't gotten closer to finding his missing father, until now. This intruiging nending to the story rids the town of the evil and Charlie finds that not all is lost. 5 stars!

Sports Illustrated Kids: "It's Showtime" is a pretty good magazine with news updates on current sports. It has a well-written story about Kobe Bryant's fight for a fifth NBA title, but is also filled with a variety of other sports including hockey, football, soccer, and more. It is really helpful in updating yourself on sports, especially when you haven't been able to watch them. I think it deserves 4 stars.

Sports Illustrated Kids: "Kick It!" has a really good story about Landon Donovan. It has people's controversial opinions about how the US is going to do in the World Cup which is really interesting because of the people's opinions. It also has a story about Landon Donovan's impact on the US team. Another story about Tim Tebow and how he will do in the NFL. It had two people with oppostie opinions about him and how he will do and it was cool what each of them thought and why they thought it. 4 stars.

Four Four Two: Complete Guide to the World Cup was really helpful. It had people's opinions about how far teams will go and how much they liked the coach of that team. It has the bracket's and which team in each division will play another team if they win. Anything you would need to know about the World Cup is in there including star players and how people think they will effect their team. It's a really informational magazine, but not very fun to read so therefore, I give it 3.5 stars.

A really good book is "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by J.K. Rowling. It is about a boy named Harry who finds out that not only is he a wizard, but he is a famous figure in the wizarding world. He is known as "the boy who lived" because he survived when the great Dark Wizard Lord Voldemort tried to kill him. Harry goes to Hogwarts, a wizarding school, and learns magic there. He also gets himself in an adventure that includes a three-headed dog, a magical mirror, and the Elixir of Life. 5 out of 5 stars.

You should read "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" by Steohenie Meyer if you enjoyed the Twilight series. It is a short novella about Bree Tanner, a newborn vampire introduced in "Eclipse." It tells about her life in Victoria's army, how she finds out the lies and truths about vampires, and how her life came to an end. This book shows her emotions toward her guardian, Fred, her only friend, Diego, and her creator, Victoria, who Bree knows only as "her." I recommend this book to all. It is a great read! 5 out of 5 stars.

The movie "Knight and Day" is really good. It is about a girl who is going home for her sister's wedding and bumps into a guy at the airport - twice. They end up on the same plane, and she discovers that he is a secret agent (or is he?). He is in possession of a very powerful, very expensive, and very wanted battery that never runs out of juice. She is torn between the things he tells her (don't listen to these people who SAY they're FBI, I am not who most people will say I am, etc.) and what the FBI tells her (this man is an agent gone rogue, he is trying to sell the battery to make money, etc.) This is a really great movie! 5 out of 5 stars.

I just read "First Meetings in the Enderverse" It includes three stories. It is about how a young polish boy, John Paul, is almost forced to go to military school by the government. He then meets a grad student who is teaching his class.
Then, the third story is about their son, Ender, and how he pushed through the same military school that John Paul was almost forced to go to. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

Avatar the Last Airbender REVIEW

I saw the movie " Avatar the Last AirBender" and was excited because I had seen every single episode. It was awful. He turned a playfull funny and serious nick show into a serious movie. But Flint Loockwood, dreamed of being an inventor and usually failed. But he created a machine that could turn water into food. It was working untill it blew the power, he went to the power plant and hooked it up. It charged, and charged and got so overloaded that it blasted into the air and stayed. Title: Prospero’s Children
Author: Jan Siegel

Rating: 2 out of 5

Review: This is a book about some people looking for a key which will lead them to Atlantis, a city that has been wiped from Time and Space by a flood. There are several bad guys, all using each other to get at the key but it wasn’t very exciting. This wasn’t a very good book because the author used so many big words that she couldn’t convey the meaning in her book. It only mentions Prospero’s Children once in the book and the focus of the book isn’t Prospero’s Children in the first place. The most annoying thing about this book though was the fact that the characters fall asleep all the time. They will be talking and in midsentence fall asleep. In one part, the girl has stayed awake all night to hear this sound and find out what it is, she hears the sound and falls asleep. The only reason I didn’t give this book a one is because it had an okay storyline.

Title: The Book of Mordred
Author: Vivian Vande Velde

Rating: 3 out of 5

Review: This was an okay book detailing four of Morded’s, King Arthur’s son, adventures. This was a pretty good book apart from the fact that none of these stories were true legends of King Arthur. They were almost the same as the traditional legends except there were a couple inconsistencies. I think that the author could have done a better job of sticking to the original story because her ideas of how the story went weren’t very good. Also the book wasn’t written from Mordred’s point of view, it was written from two other people’s, both who were close to Mordred but not always right there at the critical moments.

Title: Pendragon Book Seven: the Quillan Games
Author: D. J. MacHale

Rating: 3 out of 5

Review: This was an okay book as far as the Pendragon series goes, Bobby is on Quillan which has games set up for the people to bet on and the ones who bet wrong lose. Saint Dane puts Bobby into the competition and he has to win because the loser usually dies. Dane is also working to destroy Second Earth and Courtney and Mark are trying to stop him. I thought it was okay but it isn’t really clear who wins in the end in Quillan. They tried to explain more about what a Traveler really was but it didn’t really help. In the end this book was okay but it didn’t seem to mean much in the whole battle for Halla.

Title: Incarceron
Author: Catherine Fisher

Rating: 5 out of 5

Review: This was a really good book about a prison called Incarceron where half the people on earth are imprisoned. The prison recycles all of the dead people and broken parts to make new things but it starts running out of organic matter and has to use robotic parts. The prison is supposed to eventually become a paradise but it fails miserably and the vast place is full of crime, corruption, and monsters. A boy inside the Prison finds a key and a girl outside finds an identical one that allows them to communicate and help the boy try and escape. Outside Time has been frozen and everyone lives in the Victorian Age, they aren’t supposed to build more complex stuff but some still do. I liked this book and it only took me a day to read. It had lots of interesting plot twists and was well written. I think that everyone will enjoy this book and I think it may be the first book in a series, the rest haven’t come out yet.

Author: Michael Crichton

Rating: 2 out of 5

Review: This was a short book that didn’t seem to have a very good plot. The Eaters of the Dead didn’t really eat the dead and there wasn’t much about them in the story. It is written from the perspective of an Arab traveling in the Norse lands. He meets up with a bunch of Norse guys and thay all go out to kill tha Eaters of the Eead. It didn’t have a very dramatic ending and there wasn’t anything that made it special. Overall it was just a very bland book.

The book "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" by J.K. Rowling is a great book. It's Harry's second year at Hogwarts, and he starts it off by hearing strange voices that no one else can hear. Later on in the term, the caretaker, Mr. Filch, finds his cat dead, and written on the wall is "the Chamber of Secrets has been opened again by the heir of Slytherin". All of the sudden, attacks keep happening, and all of them to muggle-born wizards. Will Harry, Ron, and Hermione find out who the heir of Slytherin is, and where the Chamber of Secrets is, so they can kill the monster inside? 4 out of 5 stars.

A really goo book is Artemis Fowl the Arctic Incident. It really gets you on the edge of your seat, and keeps you interested the whole way. I think Eoin Colfer is a really good author because of the elaborate plans he devises and how they fit perfectly into the story. National Geographic Kids August 2010 has the same features all over again. They have reviews and info about a new kids movie that's coming out. They have some puzzle and a few games, but the best part were the facts about space. There was a section near the back that had pictures and explanations of cool and rare phenomenons that occur in space which was pretty interesting. They also had a big poster of a great white shark attacking so you could see all it's teeth. Overall, though, they have the same stuff every month which gets kinda boring so I would give it 2 stars.

So the companies wanted Mr. and Ms. Smith to kill each other. I rate this movie five out of five stars.

Little House in the Big Woods
By: Laura Ingalls Wilder
This book is the first of a series. This is an autobiography, which means that the author wrote the book about herself. In this book Laura is a little girl living in a small cabin in the woods. She lives with her Ma, Pa, older sister named Mary, and Her younger sister named Carrie. In this book it tells about the young childhood of Laura Ingalls. I really liked all of these books because I enjoyed reading about Laura's life. The setting of this particular book is in the big woods in the late 1800's. I rate this book five out of five stars.

Farmer Boy
By: Laura Ingalls Wilder
This book is the second in the series. It is written by Laura but it is about the childhood of her husband, Almanzo Wilder. In this book it tells all about the work and games that Almanzo's childhood held. He goes through many adventures with his brothers and sisters. I really recommend this series to girls only because most of the books are through a girls perspective and is not really a boys book. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Here are the Ouran High School Series Reviews:

Volume 1 of the Ouran High School Host Club series (by Bisco Hatori) is definitely not the easiest book to read because of the manga style and format. It’s about a girl named Haruhi, who is a gifted student. She breaks an 80,000 dollar vase at school owned by the Host Club. The Host Club is made up of six super-rich guys, who force Haruhi to work for them to pay off the damages. The plot involves a brewing romance, but there is a plot twist in that Haruhi is dressed as a boy but is really a girl. I would rate this maybe 1 star out of 5. (8)

Volume 2 of the Ouran High School Host Club series (by Bisco Hatori) furthers the tale of Haruhi, who is a girl pretending to be a boy. There’s a physical exam at the school, and the Host Club (who all know she is a girl) are fearful that the doctor will find out she’s a girl and she will be kicked out. Also, if the customers find out she’s a girl, Haruhi will have to leave her job. Haruhi has the exam, but I won’t reveal what happens next. I give this a 1 out of five stars.
(8)

Volume 3 of the Ouran High School Host Club Series was a little harder to understand than the previous two. It’s summer break at the school and the Host Club goes to the beach and bring Haruhi with them. When Haruhi stands up to some bullies who live there, she’s thrown into the ocean. Then Tamaki, the host club “king” rescues her, but he is so mad that he won’t talk to her until she apologizes. But she doesn’t know what she needs to apologize for. I give this 1 out of 5 stars. (8)

Volume 4 of the Ouran High School Host Club series (by Bisco Hatori) The Host Club members are interested in Haruhi’s personal life. Therefore, they break into her house to find out more about her lifestyle. Although they appear to be nice. Everything seems to backfire on them, Tamaki especially. For example, Tamaki trips and lands on top of Haruhi right as her dad walks in. I rate this 1.5 stars. (8)

Volume 5 of the Ouran High School Host Club series (by Bisco Hatori) In this volume, Hiruhi’s grades drop and she is in jeopardy of losing her scholarship to Ouran High School. All of the Host Club members try to become her tutor, but she picks a female student named Ayame instead. Haruhi now spends a lot of time with Ayame, but Ayame hates Tamaki who is the leader of the Host Club. Tamaki tries to get on Ayame’s good side, but does he succeed? One star (8)

Volume 6 of the Ouran High School Host Club series (by Bisco Hatori) At Ouran High School there is a festival, and the Host Club members are entertaining visiting parents. Tamaki’s grandmother despises and shuns him, banning him from the family mansion. The Host Club then has to take action to help their favorite leader out. One star 8)

Volume 7 of the Ouran High School Host Club series (by Bisco Hatori,) Chika, Hunny’s little brother, visits the Host Club, of which Hunny is a member. He immediately attacks Hunny using his martial arts against his older brother. Chika seems to be quite the opposite of his loving brother and the Host Club is determined to find out why. One star

Here is the first part of the Naruto Series:

Naruto Volume 2 The Worst Client by Masashi Kishimoto This manga series is about an orphan named Naruto who is a big troublemaker. This series is both funny and tragic. In the second volume, Naruto completes his final ninja test but desires more important tasks. He is then placed with his teacher Kakashi with the job of bodyguard to an old man. He doesn’t realize that he is going to have to defend the old man from elite ninja assassins, including Zabuza, nicknamed the Demon. 2 stars

Naruto Volume 3 Bridge of Courage Masashi Kishimoto In this volume, Zabuza, the assassin failed his first attempt at killing Tazuna, a bridge builder. Naruto is now protecting Tazuna’s family from Zabuza and prepares for tabuza’s next attack. Haku, Zabuza’s deadly apprentice joins the Demon, making his next attack even deadlier. I give this one two stars.

Naruto Volume 5 Exam Hell by Masashi Kishimoto Naruto has been through many deadly fights but nothing has prepared him enough for the most terrifying thing of all: exams. Naruto signed up for the Journeyman Ninja Selection exams so that he could be promoted to the rank of full-fledged shinobi. 2.5 stars

Naruto Volume 6 The Forest of Death Masashi Kishimoto In this volume, Naruto makes it through the first half of exams, but this is only the beginning. Naruto has to survive the Forest of Death using stealth and cunning to pass the test, while defeating the forest’s many perils. Here is more of the Naruto Series Reviews:

Naruto Volume 10 A Splendid Ninja by Masashi Kishimoto In this book, Naruto has to fight through a few matches for the journeyman ninja selection exams. Rock-Lee is a really fast ninja who has to face Gaara, the sand ninja. The focus of the book is on all the different matches in the preliminaries. Rock-Lee doesn’t know ninja-jitsu, so he has to rely on speed to beat his opponents. This volume was action-filled, and I give it 2.5 stars.

Naruto Volume 11 Impassioned Efforts by Masashi Kishimoto Naruto has to train for the Chunin selection exam finals with his new mentor, Jiraiya. Naruto tries to unlock the nine-tailed fox chakra inside him, while other villages are making alliances against a big city named Konohagakure. I liked the drawings in this book but the format continues to be kind of weird. I give this 2.5 stars.

Naruto Volume 12 The Great Flight by Masashi Kishimoto Naruto has to fight Neji, considered the best young ninja in the region, in the finals of the Chunin selection exams. With Naruto’s new power of the nine-tailed fox chakra, he is the only one who stands a chance at defeating Neji. I thought that the plot was more interesting than usual, but the middle of the book was a little boring due to the lack of action. I give it 2.5 stars.

Naruto Volume 13 The Chunin Exam, Concluded by Masashi Kishimoto Sasuke faces Gaara, the Sand ninja in the final battle of the Chunin exam. With Sasuke’s newfound powers, can he stand a chance agains Gaara’s ferocity? I liked this book because the whole volume involved a fight and it was action-filled. Sometimes, however it was a little confusing and hard to understand. 2.5 stars

Here are reviews of several books:

The graphic novel Animal Crackers by Gene Luen Yang is an interesting story about Gordan Yamamoto and Loyola Chin, who both have an encounter with an alien. Gordon was a school bully who found a micro-robot in his nose that was in the process of downloading information from his brain. Loyola was a smart girl who befriends Gordon along the way. This was an odd story and seemed a little random at times. I rate this 2 stars.

The graphic novel Batman False Faces by Brian K. Vaughan is a good story. Batman has always been able to balance his double life as Batman and Bruce Wayne. But when he goes up against old villains, such as the Ventriloquist, the Mad Hatter and Clayface, can he maintain his secret? I liked this book because it was action-filled, but it was sometimes difficult to tell who was talking in some of the action scenes. I give this 2.5 stars.

In Batman Haunted Gotham by Doug Moench, Batman has to protect city from the Joker and supernatural ghosts. In this thrilling story, Batman has to save Gotham from being overrun by supernatural beings that prey on humans. The book was very exciting and had a lot of action and the graphics were good most of the time. I give it 2.5

Captain America the Man With No Face by Ed Brubaker is a good story of the challenges Captain America faces. He has to struggle with being Bucky Barnes and Captain America at the same time. He faces new enemies and new problems. There was a lot of action in the story which made it good, but sometimes there was so many characters it was hard to keep track of who was saying what. 2.5 stars

In Batman Lovers and Madmen by Michael Green, Batman has brought crime to an all time low and people think they’re safe. Then the Joker comes and changes everything. He is a psychopath who believes that there is only one rule to life; There are no rules. This action-filled story of Batman doing justice has a good plot and great art. 3 stars

Batgirl Redemption by Adam Beechen is a decent story involving Batgirl trying to get revenge against her own father because of all the bad things he’s done. She learns to use her martial arts skills to help rather than harm and make the world a better place. This graphic novel was filled with action and I give it 3 stars.

Tales of the Batman by Tim Sale is about Batman and Robin fighting all the crime across Gotham. Green monsters, big bombs, and the Joker is just a small bit of what they’re up against. This story had a lot of action, but I can’t say I liked it that much because it seemed like the same thing over again. 2 out of 5 stars.

More Naruto Series Reviews:

Naruto Volume 15 by Masashi Kishimoto:Naruto”s Ninja Handbook is about the conflict between Naruto and Gaara, the sand ninja. Naruto prepares himself for the battle between them, but starts understanding his rival. Still, Naruto knows he has to practice because the mutated Gaara will be much tougher. It was action-filled which made the Manga placed in awkward places which made it hard to read. 2.5 stars.

Naruto Volume 16 by Masashi Kishimoto: Eulogy, is a good action-filled story. After Orochimaru’s assault, the shinobi ninjas see that a lot of people died. While they mourn over the deaths a long-lost ninja is picked to be the hero. I liked the plot of the story because it almost seemed real life, but I didn’t like the Manga formatting because I can’t get used to it, so it’s hard to read. 2 stars

Naruto Volume 17 by Masashi Kishimoto: Itachi’s Power, has an interesting plot and tons of action. Sasuke’s older brother wants something from Naruto. At the same time, a new ninja is starting to take the spotilight. During Naruto’s training, strange secrets of the past are becoming known. The only problem I had with this book was in some parts it seemed a little slow so I give it 2 stars.

Naruto Volume 18 by Masashi Kishimoto: Tsunades’s Choice, seems like it’s just repeating itself. It seems the same thing happens in this story; somebody on the bad side attacks or captures somebody, and then their is a battle. Anyway, it’s about Orochimaru capturing Tsunade, and then offering her things she can’t resist like the resurrection of some of her family. Naruto passes the second level of training, only to be met by the hardest, third level. I didn’t like it very much because it seemed “same-old, same-old”. 1 star out of 5

Here is the rest of the Naruto Reviews:

Naruto Volume 19 by Masashi Kishimoto: Successor, is the combat between good and evil. Naruto and his friends take on Orochimaru in full combat. Tsunade is in danger of becoming overwhelmed by Orochimaru and Naruto has to save her. There wasn’t a time in the book without action, 2.5 stars.

Naruto Volume 20 by Masashi Kishimoto: Naruto vs. Sasuke, is a thrilling story of Naruto trying to save his friend. Sasuke believes that the only way to gain the Mangekyou Sharingan, he must kill his best friend. I liked the battle because it was very intense, and I like how it was something different from the usual good vs. evil. 2.5 stars.

Naruto Volume 21 by Masashi Kishimoto: Pursuit, is about Naruto searching out Sasuke to get him out of his conflicted state. Naruto, Neji and others hunt him down in the hopes of capturing him and talking sense into him, but can they defeat his newfound allies? It’s interesting, but the Manga is hard to read. 2 out of 5 stars.

Naruto Volume 22 by Masashi Kishimoto: Comrades, is about Naruto fighting Orochimaru to stop from capturing more of their friends. Orochimaru is trying to convert Sasuke to his side so he can use him in his plan, but Naruto can’t let that happen. I still don’t like the Manga format, but it was ok so 2.5 stars.

Naruto Volume 23 by Masashi Kishimoto: Predicament, has a ton of action in it. With Orochimaru’s plans about Sasuke known, Naruto has to save him before it’s too late. But to get to Sasuke, he has to go through Kimimaro, a deadly ninja he’s encountered before. Although there’s tons of action, it’s hard to read because eof the Manga. Besides that, it was a good story. 2.5 stars.

Naruto Volume 24 by Masashi Kismoto: Unorthodox, is about Naruto planning his attack on Kimimaro. Rock Lee, comes to his aid, fighting Kimimaro for him, but starts losing the battle. Then Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro help to finish him off, just as Naruto catches Sasuke. This was a good story, so I give it 2.5 stars.

PONYO

An awesome movie is Ponyo. Hayao Miyazaki has outdone himself again with this cute and wonderful story about a fish becoming a human. But in my opinion, Ponyo had been insanely Disney-fied; as in, many of the translations were incorrect/changed. Even though that is the case, i still give Ponyo 5 out of 5 stars.

DESPICABLE ME

This movie has to be one of the best original concepts that Disney has spit out in a long time. It's very humorous but still manages to retain a life lesson in the end. And even though Despicable Me seems like a childish movie, it's humor will make people of all ages burst out laughing. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!

ECLIPSE

This. Movie. Was. Terrible. First of all, the actors were so overly dramatic in their scenes that it made it unbearable to watch. Also, the dialogue was so cheesy, my ears started to cry. In my opinion, Eclipse was a total waste of $10.50 and 2 hours of my life. But what I thought was quite funny is that the movie producers decided that making Jacob/Taylor Lautner as shirtless throughout the movie as possible would bring in more revenue from the "Team Jacob" fangirls. (I think it worked seeing that Eclipse's box office sales broke a world record.) I give this movie a 0.3 out of 5 stars.

WATERSHIP DOWN

I pity you upcoming 8th grade Advanced English students. Watership Down, 476 pages of rabbits. The teachers also lied to you.

"This book is about life, not bunnies!"

LIES. Traveling rabbits have nothing to do with life!!!!! Also, just one word of advice: make sure you read "Watership Down" and not it's squeal, "Tales From Watership Down".

Up

Review: This movie is about the life of two children. They meet, grow up, and end up getting married. The woman dies before the man and it is sad at this part. The man promised his wife that he will move their house to their dream spot in South America. During the movie the old man realizes what is more important. Throughout this movie the old man and a little boy experience many adventures and i really liked this movie. At some parts it's a little boring and that's why I'm giving it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Here is the first part of the Fruits Basket Series:

Fruits Basket Volume 1 by Natsuki Takaya is about an orphan named Tohru Honda. She was taken in by the Sohma family, where she could stay, if she cleans and cooks for the family. This is alright for a while, but then she learns about the families secrets and magical affairs that surround them. For example, if a person from the opposite gender hugs them, they turn into their Zodiac birth animal. This was a very interesting story, but very odd and quirky. 2.5 stars.

Fruits Basket Volume 2 by Natsuki Takaya is an interesting story of how Tohru deals with her newfound knowledge about the Sohma family. She now has the responsibility of keeping the family’s secrets, secret. So when her two best friends come over for a sleep over, she has to work to keep them from discovering the families magical dealing to keep their secrets safe. This book was definitely better than the first one, which I think was to just introduce the characters. 3 stars.

Fruits Basket Volume 4 by Natsuki Takaya is about a new boy named Akito who creates a threat of revealing Yuki’s past. Ayame begins to realize that she is stuck with her family, no matter what she thinks of them. This book wasn’t as good because the I didn’t get to read the third one, so it was pretty confusing. I had to almost make up the 3rd volume for things to make sense. 2 stars.

Fruits Basket Volume 5 by Natsuki Takaya is about a family vacation. The Sohma family spends the week at their vacation home, but there’s one problem. Yuki and Kyo had a fight and won’t talk anymore, but can Tohru help them make up? This was a good story so I give it 2.5 stars.

Here is the next part of the Fruits Basket Series:

Fruits Basket Volume 6 by Natsuki Tayaka is about Kyo’s mysterious past. Tohru is unsure how to react when a strange man meets them claiming he has known Kyo for a long time. Tohru tries to help in any way that she can. This book was a little harder to read because I wasn’t sure if it was past or present time, so 2 stars.

Fruits Basket Volume 7 by Natsuki Tayaka introduces even more new characters. Tohru has been noticing a fondness for Kisa and her lively manner, until Hiro is introduced. Hiro, is a annoying brat of a kid who has a crush on Kisa. The only problem is Tohru is always with her, and if there’s one thing he can’t stand, it’s her. This was a pretty good book, although the Manga format still confused me. 2.5 stars out of 5.

Fruits Basket Volume 8 by Natsuki Tayaka makes everything more crazy than ever. Tohru and the Sohma family are excited, with summer just around the corner, but some people can’t stay under control. Hatsuharu’s constant outburst in the classroom is causing everybody a lot of grief. This one was full of action with new characters thrown in here and there. 2.5 stars.

Fruits Basket Volume 9 by Natsuki Tayaka introduces new problems for everyone. Summer break seems to make everything even more wild than usual. A new member of the council puts Yuki awry, while Hanachan’s childhood is examined. This book was full of the most action yet, with so many crazy things happening. 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Here is the next part of the Fruits basket Series:

Fruits Basket Volume 10 by Natsuki Tayaka gets Tohru wondering about the family. How loved ones deal with the Sohma family’s Zodiac situation. Then Akito puts the family in even more distress by paying them a not-wanted visit. Shigure visits old friends, reflecting on their childhood. I liked this book because Tohru finally asks the question I would have asked in the beginning. 2.5 stars out of 5.

In Fruits Basket Volume 11 by Natsuki Tayaka, the Sohma family is in turmoil, and Tohru’s stuck in it. Tohru gets attacked by a horse, and she can only wonder if it was an old member of the family. Kyo lets out his secret crush on Tohru during a violent argument with Akito. The family finds out Akito’s identity as he shares some news with them. This was a very intriguing book that kept me hooked most of the way. 3 stars.

In Fruits Basket Volume 12 by Natsuki Tayaka, the Sohma family returns home, with school rapidly approaching. Two secretaries, Naohito who has an obvious hate for Yuki, and Kimi were added to the student council. Tohru’s childhood was brought up, by her grandfather, even though she had tried to rid it of her past. This was a good book since I got to learn more about Tohru’s past. 2.5 stars out of 5.

In Fruits Basket Volume 13 by Natsuki Tayaka, Yuki must discover how to make his own choices to control his life. Yuki is helped at his parent-teacher conference on making the right choices, while Tohru set out on a quest. As she traveled she came upon Momo’s dreadful secret. This book hooked from the beginning and kept me there for most of the time.3 stars out of 5

Here is the next part of the Fruits Basket Series:

In Fruits Basket Volume 14 by Natsuki Tayaka, Isuzu is up to no good. She was searching through Shigure’s personal life suspecting he has something hidden when he became unconscious. When Tohru finds him out cold, she immediately takes him to the hospital. Yuki finds the student council room infiltrated and vandalized, but while he’s inspecting the damage he gets locked in the room’s closet. This book had a really good “hook” to get you interested. 3 out of 5 stars

In Fruits Basket Volume 15 by Natsuki Tayaka, Yuki is not in a good condition. Everybody knows his past and is on the verge of losing his will to live. Akito does nothing to help him by reminding him how hated he is. This was a pretty good book and kept me interested. 2.5 stars

In Fruits Basket Volume 16 by Natsuki Tayaka, everything is revealed. Kyo meets with Kyoko and tells her about Tohru and their adventures. He then tells Tohru the real truth of her parents. This was a really good book because it answered almost all of the questions I had. 3 stars

In Fruits Basket Volume 17 by Natsuki Tayaka, Akito tries to hide something from the Sohma family, but they’re determined to find out what. As they delve into all the mysteries, they uncover a curse that keeps Kureno from leaving Akito. This was a pretty good one because it was a thriller. 2.5 stars out of 5

Fruits Basket Volume 18 by Natsuki Tayaka is full of excitement. Machi is trying to kill her little brother, or at least that’s what everybody’s saying. An astonishing secret is revealed when Kakeru goes to talk to Yuki. This book wasn’t as good as the others. It seemed like the plot wasn’t as good this book. 2 stars

In Fruits Basket Volume 19 by Natsuki Tayaka, Tohru and Kyo’s bond becomes even more difficult. Tohru must find a way to save him, but she doesn’t know how to break the curse. This one was more thrilling than the last few so I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Here's the first part of the Ceres Celestial Legends Series:

In Volume 1, Aya and Aki are expecting a warm welcome, and a nice birthday party at their grandfather’s, but something isn’t right. Their grandfather states that only one of the children can get the family fortune. He goes on saying Aki is the heir to his riches, so Aya must die. This book was interesting, and slightly weird. 2.5 stars

In Volume 2, Suzumi pleads Yuhi to rescue Aya who is in danger of being killed, by her own family. Yuhi gets especially confused when he finds out Aya has two personalities-her own personality and Ceres. This book was definitely more exciting than the first, because it had more action through the book. 3 stars

In Volume 3, a Japanese dance instructor turns out to be a descendant of a celestial maiden. Even though her powers don’t match up with Aya’s, she can sense them all the same. She befriends her and becomes one of her most trusted allies. This was a pretty good one although there were points that were slower than others. 2.5 stars out of 5

In Volume 4, Chidori travels to Tokyo looking for aid from Ceres, in hopes of granting her sick, younger brother his last wish. To fly. The Mikage family have an unknown connection with Chidori’s family, and they want to keep it that way. This one had a pretty good hook. 2.5 stars

In Volume 5, years have been spent building up Mikage International, and Grandfather Mikage picked Aki as his successor to own the company. Will Aki live up to his Grandfather’s expectations, or is there more than meets the eye with Ai? This book seemed like a repeat of the first one, but in more depth.2 out of 5 stars

Next part of the Ceres Celestial Legends Series:

In Volume 6, a national celebrity, Shuro who is in the pop group GeSang, makes an announcement on national television saying that he is a descendant of a ten’nyo maiden, Aya leaps into action. This was a pretty good book with a good hook, but it lacked the real thrill of some of the others. 2.5 stars

In Volume 8, Aya and Toya are together and they don’t care if people know about it. Then, Miori Sahara moves to their school who, strangely, acts and looks a lot like Aya. After an accident that takes Toya’s memory will he return to Aya, or go to Miori? This was an all right book, but I didn’t like it that much because it was mostly about romance so it wasn’t as good. 1.5 stars

In Volume 9, Toya struggle to recover his old identity, while Aki creates plans to make Aya his wife. Aki, fully possessed has no idea what he’s doing, and Toya can’t decide who’s telling the truth. Miori is blaming everything on Aya, but she doesn’t retaliate. This was ok, but not as good of a plot. 2 stars

In Volume 10, Aya and Aki move to another school in hopes of continuing the search for the “hagoromo”. Rumors are circulating that there’s an underground passageway beneath the school where a terrible creature supposedly lives. This one was a lot better than the last one with a good plot and a lot more thrilling. 3 stars out of 5

In Volume 11, Toya and Aya are reunited, and Aya decides to help Toya on his pursuit of his old memories. At the same time, Kagami is still hunting for Ceres, getting closer every minute. This was a good book with a good plot and it kept me interested most of the time.2.5 out of 5 stars.

The last part of the Ceres Celestial Legends Series:

In Volume 11, Toya and Aya are reunited, and Aya decides to help Toya on his pursuit of his old memories. At the same time, Kagami is still hunting for Ceres, getting closer every minute. This was a good book with a good plot and it kept me interested most of the time.2.5 out of 5 stars.

Volume 12 Review: Toya’s amnesia is blocking him from his old memories, but after a long journey, they’re slowly coming back. Kagami keeps working on the “C-Project”, while Aki makes new threats. Aya becomes pregnant with Toya’s child, and with all these things to juggle, can Aya make it by herself? This was not the best book of the series, but it was alright. 2.5 stars

Volume 13 Review: Using Toya’s child inside her to taunt Kagami, Ceres leaves him outraged and trying to kill her, with no success. Ceres finally reveals the truth about Aya and Aki in the past. This was a pretty good book because it cleared up few questions I had. 2 stars out of 5

Volume 14 Review: Toya returning puts Kagami awry with his C-Project relocated on a boat. With the search for the hagoromo drawing near to the end, this book combines all the exciting things together into an amazing conclusion to the series. 3 out of 5 stars

Title: The Invention of Hugo Cabret
Author: Brian Selznick

Rating: 3 out of 5

Review: This was a really easy book even though it was 500+ pages. Most pages were pictures and I read this book in 2 hours. It is about as boy, Hugo Cabret, who finds an automaton, a mechanical man, which he repairs. This book didn’t have a very good plot because it didn’t have time to develop fully. I gave it a three out of five because I didn’t think it had a very good plot though the story was okay. I think this book had more potential than was used.

Review: Matt recommended this book to me and I liked the book, though I wasn’t really a fan of the premise, an islander abandoned on his island, trying to survive. Eventually more people from other islands, abandoned by the same wave which washed away everyone on his island straggle in. He meets a white girl who is washed up on shore in her boat and they try and make life normal again back on their island. I didn’t really get how the gods speaking to the kid really tied into everything but this was a pretty good book.

Review: This was a good book, not as good as the first, but still really good. I liked the action scenes that flare up really quickly in some parts. In the second book of the Dresden Files Dresden, a wizard practicing in Chicago, goes on to combat a series of murders caused by werewolves. This book had too many different suspects and the book was sort of confusing, however I liked it and would recommend this series to anyone.

Title: The Billionaire’s Curse
Author: Richard Newsome

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: This was a good book by a startup author and I really enjoyed reading it. It is about a jewel that gets stolen from the museum and the main character’s great-aunt, who gets murdered, leaving him billions of dollars. He has to track down the missing diamond and find out why his great-aunt was murdered. While some parts of it are highly unlikely it is an entertaining read with a little bit of magic, but not so much that it truly changes the storyline.

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: This is the third book in the Dresden files and while it wasn’t as good as the first or second it shows definite development of a plot beyond the story from book to book. It starts to relate what has been happening in the books to some bigger picture. Dresden, a wizard practicing in Chicago, has to deal with the ghost of one of his old enemies coming back. I liked it but it wasn’t the best Dresden files book yet.

It is about a kid who goes off into Seattle, which has been shut down because a poisonous gas is leaking into it and turning everyone into zombies. The Oregon has to take back the Antarctic and also find an ancient Chinese junk named the Silent Sea before the Chinese who will use it to lay claim to Antarctica. I liked this book a whole lot and the end made me really worried until the last page when the final problem was solved. Rating: 2 out of 5

Review: The only reason I even gave this book 2 was the fact that the author managed to write in many different styles to show differences in the characters he interviewed.. I thought it was a really slow book and it could have been fast paced if it wasn’t in journalistic form. It was about people being bitten and turning into zombies. It could have been better and it had a lot of wasted potential. I would not recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling read.

Title: The Gallic War bk. 1 tr. Carolyn Hammond
Author: Julius Caesar

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 was because it took me an entire 9 weeks to translate through chapter 24 and I read that far in an hour. It is a whole lot easier in English even if there is no Alea iacta est to really make it worthwhile. This book details the war against Ariovistus and the trouble Caesar had with keeping the Hlvetians in the same spot. I liked the story but the translation alternated between word-for-word and vernacular translations (no word in Latin translates into “down-and-out”). I would recommend this to everyone.

Rating: 5 out of 5

Review: This is the second book and it details Caesars fights with the Belgic people in 57 B.C. While slightly hard to read this is a good story with enough action and tactical strategy to make it a good read for people who like either of those things. I didn’t like the fact that time was disproportionate in this book, Caesar would hike 50 miles conquer a province and come back in a day.

Review: By now Caesar is just wiping up the pieces, he has conquered the three parts of Gaul (Gallia divisa est in partes tres) and now is dealing with minor revolts. I thought that there was a little bit less detail in these later books but a lot more on certain, select battles. Also everyone was so obsessed about getting the corn supply when they had a lot of cattle; I would take a flank steak over corn-on-the-cob any day. I realize they needed the corn but they seemed to be wasting a valuable asset and having to feed it to. This was a good book and I would recommend it to everyone.

Review: Sun Tzu had nothing on Caesar and I think that the Gauls were stupid to try and fight him; on the other hand I don’t blame them because a free country is a lot nicer than paying taxes to the Romans. In this book Caesar is trying to find Ambriox, one of the Gallic chieftains, and he crosses the Rhine again. Other than that nothing much happens in this book (some scholar is going to kill me for saying that). I would recommend this book to everyone.

She is exiled and the rest of the story is about her coming back. A lot of the same characters as Alice in Wonderland but they don’t do the same things. Title: The Red Pyramid
Author: Rick Riordan

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: Though not as good as the Percy Jackson series this was a really good book that promises a series with a lot of potential. My only real problem with it was the fact that it was written like someone was recording it and so there are lots of little interjections which get in the way. It also had one of those entrances where they try and convince you to not read the book and all that other stuff. This is about two children, Carter and Sadie Kane, who see their dad try an summon an Egyptian god but fail. The rest of the story is about stopping Set, evil god brother who feels left out by his family, from wiping out the human race. It followed the plot line of the Lightning Thief almost exactly and that made it kind of predictable. Otherwise, a good book and I would recommend it to everyone.

There is a magician looking after the main character who has to protect a girl carrying, get this, the One Seed, which has to be put in this fire in a place called Safehaven to stop all the bad monsters from taking over the world. The main character has a set of Elfstones that, like the One Ring, have magical powers but let the bad guys know where he is. The Rangers and Delta Force went out to capture two top Somali tribal leaders, a routine mission that was supposed to take an hour. First one then three more Black Hawk Helicopters are shot down by RPGs, an unprecedented disaster in the Somali conflict. The unprepared soldiers are trapped overnight in the streets of Mogadishu while they try and rescue the downed crews of the Black Hawks. This was a pretty good book and I thought it was cool that Andy McNab has his face hidden in his picture. Review: This is a really good book about great white sharks in the Farallones, a group of almost entirely inhospitable islands 30 miles west of Los Angeles. This book is written from a first person point-of-view and I only realized that author was a woman halfway through the book when I bothered to look on the front. Susan is a journalist for the Times magazine and she writes about the sharks in the Farallones. My favorite part of this book was Swissy, the rehabilitated sea-lion, who is put in the water of the Farallones by a well meaning couple, who neglected to talk to the people stationed their about whether-or-not it was a good idea to release sea lions there. They released Swissy, second lap around the boat he got bitten in half by an 18 foot great-white, who conveniently left the head floating in front of the couple. This book is about a man wanting to bring back an ancient form of fighting but wanting to weed out all the other schools to do so. The guy also wants Kenshin to join him or die so when Kenshin doesn’t choose either the guy tries to pick one for him. I liked this series a lot more than I thought I would and enjoyed reading it. There are also a lot of interesting sword techniques in these books but they are all made up. I liked this book and recommend it to everyone.

Title: Wild Magic
Author: Jude Fisher

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: This is the second book in the Fool’s Gold Trilogy and I thought it was pretty good, though not as good as the first. This book really seemed to set the stage for the last book, all the prophecies and omens started to take shape and at the end of the book the stage was set for a war and for the god to be unleashed. I liked this book and think it was a good follow up for the last one even though a lot of the parts were confusing. There were a lot of characters but not as many as the last book and there weren’t really any new ones. I recommend this book to most ages, it was maybe a little too much for younger kids and would probably be too confusing.

Title: Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (Graphic Novel)
Based on an Original Story By George Lucas

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: This is the comic book adaptation of the 1st movie in the Star Wars saga. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui Gon Gin go to try and convince the Trade Federation to remove itself from around Naboo. Negotions don’t even happen and war breaks out on Naboo. The Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui Gon Gin, rescue the queen and flee to Tatooine where they meet a promising new Jedi. The rest of the story is the fight to take back Naboo. This was a pretty short version of the story but other than that it relays the whole story to people who want to read the graphic novel. This is a great story and a well illustrated book I recommend it to every graphic novel fan.

Title: Left Behind: A Graphic Novel of the Earth’s Last Days Book 1, Volume 1
Adapted From a Novel by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins

Rating: 2 out of 5

Review: I read the real book version of this and it wasn’t very good either. All over the world people vanish, leaving clothes, glasses, and everything else not living behind. This book was all about the initial shock of finding people gone on a 747 and the realization that all over the world people are vanishing. It was a little cheesy, one guy rigged a light in the airplane so that he could use the internet and I know that isn’t possible. It just seemed highly unrealistic. I don’t recommend this book to anyone but it is so short you can decide for yourself.

Title: Heroes Volume 1
Author: A whole lot of people

Rating: 2 out of 5

Review: I was disappointed by this graphic novel because it didn’t really tell the whole story about “Heroes”, the TV show. I watched this to get the feel for what the show was like but apparently this book was stuff that happened in between the episodes. I didn’t like it very much and the story really needed to slow down so that you could understand what was happening but all I got out of it was there were people with super powers and some people were killing those people to get their powers. Also the government was tracking them all with a satellite. I didn’t like this book and don’t recommend It to anyone but the people who have watched the TV show and understand what is going on.

Rating: 1 out of 5

Review: This book was a twisted version of the life of King David. All of the characters were short and mean. They were always killing someone and I don’t think that this is how the story of David should have been portrayed. As far as correctness goes, it was biblically correct, but it was not a children’s book. I don’t recommend this book to anyone.

Title: The Case of Madeleine Smith
Author: Rick Geary

Rating: 1 out of 5

Review: This was a true story about a woman in Victorian England who kills her lover. This wasn’t a very good story because it went through all her life but it didn’t focus very much on the murder. Also the book said that they didn’t prove she did the murder but it never goes on to say that they later found her guilty or on her deathbed she admits she did it. Nothing at all. I didn’t like this book and don’t recommend it to anyone.

Review: This was the first book in the series but it didn’t stop to introduce the setting or anything. About halfway through I figured out that they were on a hidden island that they didn’t want any outsiders to find. The story is about a little girl and her adventures on and off the island. There is a crazy scientist, an Indian, and a banker, along with others, who also live on the island. He was Superman but he didn’t have any powers because he wasn’t under a yellow sun when he was on Krypton. I didn’t really get how the alien copied his powers though. Title: Ray Harryhausen presents: Wrath of the Titans
Author: Ray Harryhausen

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: Ray Harryhausen was the guy who did the animation for the first “Clash of the Titans” movie. My guess is the people who held the “Clash of the Titans” copyright didn’t want him to write a book so instead he named it Wrath of the Titans. It was a lot like the movie but some parts were different, like the fact Perseus was off to rescue his son. The Fates also knew the trick he used in the movie so that didn’t work. I kept trying to figure out what parts were from the movie. The plot is this, Perseus finds his newborn son stolen and he goes to the Fates who help him a little. He keeps looking everywhere for his son and meets lots of gods and goddesses. I recommend this graphic novel to people who like the movie and people who like comic books.

Author: Darren Shan

Rating: 2 out of 5

Review: I read the second book in this series a while ago and it was a lot better than this graphic novel version. The graphic novel makes everyone seem so evil while in the book they don’t seem so bad. A kid goes to a freak show with his friend who wants to become a vampire. They see a spider which the kid later steals. The spider bites his friend and the kid ends up becoming a vampire to save his friend. I thought the characters seemed a lot more sinister in this version of the story. I don’t recommend this book to anyone.

I didn’t like this book very much because I didn’t understand what was happening, the events in this book were different than those in the original. All the pictures were blurry and drawn in odd hues. I didn’t like this version because it wasn’t like the original. I don’t recommend this graphic novel to anyone.

Title: Graphic Classics: Mark Twain
Author: Mark Twain

Rating: 1 out of 5

Review: These stories were really weird. They didn’t have very good endings and there wasn’t really a resolution. Whoever the bad guy or monster was, they just left at the end. I didn’t like these 12 short stories. This was a book in graphic novel form but it wasn’t anything like Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn. These were all ghost stories and they weren’t any good. I don’t recommend this graphic novel to anyone.

Review: This was an okay story with a strange premise. Three sisters, who all have magical powers over paper, have a detective agency where they solve book related mysteries. They have lots of really strange adventures, like meeting an alien and finding a hidden library, but the book doesn’t seem too weird. This book was about the beginnings of their adventures; they stop a book thief and investigate some other mysterious events. I recommend this book to people who like girly, graphic novels.

Title: Eden: It’s an Endless World book #1
Author: Hiroki Endo

Rating: 1 out of 5

Review: This series is about a disease wiping out most people on the planet. The book follows the lives of two different groups as they try and cope with the situation around them. Supplies are running out and the economy is really struggling. This book was about two kids and an adult who live in a research lab. The adult has been affected by the disease but slowed its effects and the kids are immune to it. They have a robot that helps defend them when some people from a revolutionary group try and capture them. Halfway through the book the story inexplicably changes to another kid, who has the same robot, and is living in an armored vehicle. He meets up with a group of revolutionaries trying to take down the government that was established after the disease killed everyone. Review: I liked this movie because it was long and the animation was great but I thought that the storyline could have been better. Jake Sully, a marine who has lost use of his legs, gets the unique opportunity to restart as an Avatar, a person controlling one of the natives of Pandora, a planet light-years away from Earth. His job is to try and make peace between the natives and the humans, who are trying to mine a valuable substance from the planet. This was the story of how he went about trying to do this. I liked this movie but it could have been shorter and cut off a lot of the little details not essential to the plot.
Besides that this was a pretty good movie.

Jack Bauer has to protect a presidential candidate from an assassination attempt while also trying to protect his wife and daughter who have been kidnapped by the same people. I liked that while Jack was looking for the mole inside his organization, the counter-terrorism unit in California, you begin to suspect one person and then it seems like someone else is the mole. I would recommend this series to everyone.

Title: Bedtime Stories
Rating: PG

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: This was an okay movie about a man who is telling bedtime stories to his niece and nephew finds them starting to come alive in reality and he tries to manipulate them to his own ends. He works for an architectural company and is trying to create a hotel that will be the best in the world. This movie was funny even though it wasn’t phenomenal and the scenarios he found himself in were funny. I would recommend this movie to everyone.

Title: Beverly Hills Chihuahua
Rating: PG

Rating: 3 out of 5

Review: This was a movie that was supposed to be funny but ended up being a little strange. A Chihuahua from Beverly Hills gets dog napped in Mexico and she tries to find her way home while a band of thieves try and steal her diamond collar. She ends up becoming some type of doggie warrior with a powerful bark which I thought was kind of stupid. This movie was okay but I wouldn’t recommend watching it.

Review: This is a classic movie about a man who invents a flying car that takes him, his girlfriend, and his family to a place called Vulgaria. The rest of the movie is about them trying to escape evil Baron Bomburst who has taken all the children in the kingdom. This was a good classic but not really that good compared to today’s movies, the graphics were really bad also but you can get over that and enjoy the movie. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes classic movies.

Title: Die Another Day
Rating: PG-13

Rating: 5 out of 5

Review: This is still one of my favorite James Bond movies, and it is more recent than most. It is about James Bond trying to stop an Icelandic diamond magnate from taking over the world with his satellite that concentrates sunlight into killer heat lasers. Lots of action, guns, and an invisible car. I liked this movie a lot and wish the newer movies were more like it, I don’t like the new bond very much, he needs to have black hair. I would recommend this movie to everyone.

Review: This movie was about a New York cop who finds himself in a building taken over by terrorists. He has to save his wife from the terrorist and also help the L.A. police get in. I liked the part where they used the armored car to try and get into the building and it got blown up. The bad guy also had a cool name, Hans Gruber. I would recommend this movie to people old enough to not get scared by the action.

Review: This is a movie, based on a true story, about a man whose wife leaves him and his three children get taken and put into orphanages because he is not deemed financially sound enough to raise three kids. He keeps appealing to higher courts to get his children back and his case goes all the way to the Irish Supreme Court. Some parts of this movie were good but the rest was stiff and boring. Lots of legal stuff, but still worth seeing. I recommend this movie to anyone.

Title: The Mummy
Rating: PG-13

Rating: 5 out of 5

Review: This was a really good, really scary movie about a group of archaeologists bringing a mummy to life and it starts sending the plagues of Egypt upon everyone. The mummy is also trying to hunt down the people that opened the tomb and Rick O’Connel, an archaeologist with a love of guns has to stop him. Lots of action but definitely a PG-13 movie, it would have been too scary for anyone younger. I recommend this movie to more mature audiences.

Title: The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
Rating: PG-13

Rating: 5 out of 5

Review: This was a good movie even thought the original mummy wasn’t in it this time. Now a group of Chinese militants wake the Dragon Emperor, who conveniently has the power to control the elements, and want him to conquer all of China. Rick’s son is older now and he has become a lot like his father, at one point they are arguing over which guns are better for which jobs. The General was really indestructible, he survived a direct hit from a bomb. This was a good movie and had a lot of funny parts. I would recommend it to everyone.

Review: This was Pierce Brosnan’s first Bond film and it was pretty good. Goldeneye is this satellite that can destroy whole cities and the base where the controls are is destroyed. The bad guy plans to destroy London and make himself millions in a double play. The little techie guy was pretty annoying and he got it in the end but otherwise this was a really good movie. Lots of action and the showdown in Cuba was really good. I would recommend this film to all but the youngest age groups.

Review: Two kids find a bag full of British pounds days before the country makes the change to the Euro (Britain never really switched to the Euro) and they have to spend it all before it becomes obsolete. One brother wants to spend it all himself on stuff for only him while the younger brother is giving money away to lots of different people. It is funny to see what happens when the younger kid gives away the money. The money, it turns out though “belongs” to a group of thieves and they come to his house trying to find the money. Title: Mortal Kombat
Rating: PG-13

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: This was a really good Kong-Fu movie based on a video game. 3 mortal warriors have to win Mortal Kombat to save Earth from annihilation. They are really different and they have to fight people from different worlds, with different powers. The evil guys henchmen have superpowers while most everyone else has to rely on their own skills. This movie had a really cool intro but it is basically one long fight scene and falls prey to the law of diminishing return. It was a good movie but the parts that were supposed to be dramatic were not really that dramatic. I recommend this movie to people who won’t get scared by lots of creepy images.

Rating: 3 out of 5

Review: I don’t really like this album very much but the songs aren’t that bad. It is a lot of country music and in a real slow style. Some of the more well known songs are “Honky Tok Blues”, “I’m so Lonesome I Could Cry”, and “Ramblin’ Man”. I recommend this album to country fans and people who like more laid back music.

Review: I have only listened to this album once or twice but I got the feel of it. This album is mostly a rock and roll album but it is more restrained than Kiss and Aerosmith. Album: Songs You Know By Heart
Artist: Jimmy Buffet

Rating: 4 out of 5

Review: This album has most of the popular songs by Jimmy Buffet. This album has a relaxed air to it and the songs are laid back with lots of singing parts. I like some of the songs on this album. This album contains popular songs like “Boat Drinks”, “Margaritaville”, and my favorite “Cheeseburger in Paradise”. I recommend this album to people who are looking for something to listen to while they are relaxing somewhere quiet and peaceful.

Album: I'm the Man
Artist: Joe Jackson

Rating: 5 out of 5

Review: This is the best Joe Jackson album with lots of upbeat and fast paced music on it. My favorite is “I’m the man” but there are plenty of other good songs like “Geraldine and John” and “Kinda Kute”. This is an album for people who enjoy more lively music and like to get up and move around with the music. I recommend this album to everyone who likes upbeat and lively music.

Here is the first part of the Chobits Series Reviews:

Chobits Volume 1 is about what Hideki thinks is a dysfunctional robot. After finding her tied to trash, he takes her home and finds that there is more than meets the eye. Chi could be more advanced than most humanoid processor models. This was pretty interesting and had a good hook. 3 stars

In Chobits Volume 2, Hideki hardly ever gets good luck. With no allowance and getting rejected from school, nothing ever goes right, until he finds Chi. She’s a super computer that teaches itself, and if Hideki stops her from learning about herself, she may be overwhelmed—by her own self! This was all right. I think it could have had a better plot and hook, but it was ok so 2 stars.

Chobits Volume 3 helps Hideki learn how hard it is to care for a persocom without it getting in trouble. Another problem is how much Chi acts like a human. This might be a new model of persocom, a supercomputer, or an AI. Hideki soon find out that getting to attached to her can be bad, especially when she has bad secrets in her past. This was all right, but it didn’t seem to have much on-the-edge-of-your-seat feeling. At least not as much as some other Manga books I’ve read. 2 out of 5 stars

Here is the next part of the Chobits Series Reviews:

Chobits Volume 4 Review: With Chi being a feeling, self-learning, AI, there’s a good chance she’s a Chobit, a very rare legend of a computer. As news leaks out about Chi, people begin to take drastic measures like kidnapping to get their hands on a Chobit. This had a lot more action. 3 stars

In Chobits Volume 5, Hideki and his friends desperately search for Chi. As they follow the kidnapper’s online trail, Hideki can only wonder if Chi’s self-defense mechanism will be activated again. This book was a thriller. Great hook, but I still can’t get used to the Manga format. 3 stars out of 5

In Chobits Volume 6, most people consider persocoms miracles of technology, but some consider them more. Hideki becomes even more attached to Chi, but for Yumi Oumara persocoms are the worst things about technology. People become addicted to computers, and now that’s happening with the persocoms. This was ok, but I wouldn’t recommend it. 2 stars

In Chobits Volume 7, the ultimate question is asked. Will computers replace humans? That question has been answered, with Chi as an example. They are being used as replacements for dead family members, and even have the ability to love. This was pretty interesting, especially since it talked about things that happen right now. New robots becoming more human-like. 2.5 stars out of 5

Here is the last Review of the Chobits Series:

In Chobits Volume 8 Hideki is struggling with the thought that machines can have feelings, and if people can have feeling for machines! Chi has become skilled at speaking, working, and other menial tasks since Hideki found her in the trash. In some people’s mind, Chi poses a threat to persocoms and she should be deactivated. But if she has feelings, is it right to “kill” her? This one had a lot better plot and was pretty exciting. 3 stars

In Naruto Volume 25, Sasuke recalls his past to take in the tis his brother, Itachi, used to become such a dreaded ninja he is today. In the heat of battle, Naruto wonders if it’s a good idea to be so close to an Uchicha ninja is a good idea. This was full of action, but the Manga was hard to read sometimes. 2.5 stars out of 5

Naruto Volume 26 Review: With the Mangekyo within grasp, will Sasuke end up killing Naruto to obtain it? The battles between them leave both coming out battered and hurt, and Naruto can only ask, when will it end? This book was full of action and had a pretty good plot. 2.5 stars

In Naruto Volume 27, Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura head in different directions to continue their training with a different mentor. Then, they find out more about the true story of Kakashi’s many secrets. This was pretty good, but nothing special. 2 stars

With Gaara on Naruto’s side, they can both delve into the mysteries of their mutual enemy Akatsuki. This was pretty good, full of battles. 2.5 stars out of 5

Naruto Volume 28 Review: With Granny Chiyo beside her, Sakura fights at the front of the line to rescue Naruto. Sasori, a puppet master, fights them with all his might, but Granny Chiyo’s a puppet master too. This was exciting and full of action. 2.5 stars

Here is the next part of the Naruto Series Reviews:

In Naruto Volume 31, it is a life or death situation, literally. In a final battle against their enemies, Naruto and his allies cannot afford any mistakes if they want to survive. Since the whole book was pretty much a battle it got a little boring after a while. 2 stars out of 5

Naruto Volume 32 Review: Once reunited with his team after the battle against Sasori, trouble breaks out, possibly devastating for Naruto. At the same time, Orochimaru thinks there’s a spy among her allies. This was a pretty good book, and it had a more thriller type to it. 3 stars

In Naruto Volume 33, Naruto is out of control. After Orochimaru creates a bad change in Naruto’s personality, he starts morphing, becoming even stronger, and turning on his own teammates. This was a good book with a pretty good plot. 2.5 out of 5 stars

Naruto Volume 39 Review: When Sasuke names his new ninja cell Hebi, the gang knows he’s under the influence of Orochimaru. Sasuke ends up in a battle that could change ninja history forever. This was pretty good, and had an all right plot. 2.5 stars

In Naruto Volume 41, Naruto delves into the mysteries of his old teacher’s youth. He wonders what Jiraiya did during childhood could be so important, that he wouldn’t tell him? And also, how that will affect Naruto’s life today? This had a good book, and had a thriller-type theme to it. 3 out of 5 stars

The last part of the Naruto Series Reviews:

In Naruto Volume 42, the only way to stop Akatsuki’s reign of power, is to have Jiraiya go deep into the past to find the origin of Pain’s secret. Meanwhile, Sasuke gains on his brother Itachi as he gets closer to the Uchiha brothers. This was a pretty good one, but lacked a good plot. 2 stars

In Naruto Volume 43, Uchiha’s secrets are finally going to be revealed. The information Sasuke gains hurts him more than it helps him, and it could change Naruto’s world as we know it. This was pretty good, and had a good plot. 3 stars

Naruto Volume 45 Review: Even with Naruto’s and Sasuke’s powers rapidly increasing, will it be enough for the battles yet to come. As Akatsuki plans his attack on Naruto’s village, Naruto can only train and hope that their preparation will be enough. This was ok, but nothing special. 2.5 stars out of 5

In Pumpkin Scissors Volume 1, the devastating war between the Republic of Frost and the Empire finally comes to an end, but still throughout the Empire people are dying of starvation and famine. In Pumpkin Scissors Volume 2, something even worse than war is about to hit the country. Gangs of drug dealers pop up everywhere, armed and ready for anything, or anyone. Can the Pumpkin Scissors save the country from this ruthless gang? I liked this one because of the good plot and lots of action, but I still don’t like the Manga. 3 stars out of 5

Pumpkin Scissors Volume 3 Review: After a tip off that an explosion will take place, the Pumpkin Scissors rush to the scene of the crime. Claymore One has already taken action and have strict orders to kill anyone at the sight. The Pumpkin Scissors try to settle them down, but they keep attacking. This book was a thriller, and kept me interested the whole way so 3 out of 5 stars

Pumpkin Scissors Volume 4 Review: With the strict laws and constant wars, it’s no surprise people are fed up. But when a group of commoners attack a building full of nobles, Alice rushes in to their aid, only to be waved-off. This book was like the others, but still really good. I like the way the author always keeps you interested. 3 stars

Pumpkin Scissors Volume 5 Review: With so many bad things happening across the country, the one thing Alice, the head of Pumpkin Scissors, needs is a celebrity visit. Princess Septieme, a princess from another kingdom, makes a random visit, and gets captures by a group of thugs. How can Pumpkin Scissors avoid an international affair, but still save the princess? I liked this one especially because it had an event that could happen to a celebrity visiting from another country. 3.5 stars out of 5

In the thrilling Boxcar Children Volume 9, the kids are staying with their grandfather in New England. When they go rock-climbing a disastrous rock slide occurs, sending Benny over the edge, literally! This book was really good and had a great plot, and was very exciting. 4 stars

In the Boxcar Children Volume 9 Special, the children are on a trip with their grandfather to an old mansion in Michigan. As they explore, they find a note that says a diamond and ring are hidden somewhere in the house, and the riddle written on the page will lead them there, but when they solve it, somebody has already taken it and sold it. This was a really good mystery that kept me hooked the whole way. 4 stars

In the Boxcar Children Volume 20, the children travel to their grandfather’s friend’s cabin. The only problem is, when they get there, the cabin is deserted, flickering lights, and dark figures freak them out. This was pretty good, but lacked the good plot in some of the others. 2.5 stars out of 5

They pester her with questions while working, in a store for their Aunt, but every time they bring up the subject, she turns shy and won’t talk. The next day a man comes in asking for her. This was an interesting book, and I liked it once the action started. 3.5 out of 5 stars

The Boxcar Children Volume 30 Review: With their new friend Beth, the boxcar children decide to help out the community by raising money for the town hospital. Gakuen Alice Series by Tachibana Higuchi Reviews:

In Alice Volume 1, Mikan travels to Tokyo to enroll in Alice Academy, a secret school for "geniuses". Mikan tries to follow her friend , Hotaru into this new world, but finds out things are a bit more complicated than they seem. This was all right, but the plot wasn't very exciting. 2 stars out of 5

In Alice Volume 2, Mikan is allowed into Alice Academy, but is already having problems. She's the new kid, people are bullying her, and her teacher gave her the lowest score you can get, a no-star rating. This was ok, but nothing special. Didn't have a very good plot. 2 stars

In Alice Volume 3, it is time for the school festival, and the guest is former stdent Reo, the Hollywood superstar. Although he is all smiles, he is conducting a plan involving Natsume. This was a lot better than the first two because it had an interesting plot. 3 stars out of 5

Alice Volume 4 Review: With a brave rescue in her resume, she gets an upgrade from her current stature and earns One-star rank. Meanwhile, the Special Ability group ios working hard to create an unforgettable production for the school festival. This was pretty good, and the plot was interesting. If it had a better narrative hook, I think it would have led into the action better. 2.5 stars out of 5

In Alice Volume 5, things are going a little crazy. Narumi's play goes awry when some of the actors get injured. Then, Mikan has to join to make up for the injured kids, but she gets the part of kissing Luca on stage! This was a pretty good book with an exciting story. 3 stars

In an exciting volume of Alice, mysterious occurences happen acroos the academy, in Volume 6. Students are mysteriously losing their power, and Hotaru gets badly injured. The anti-academy organization, "Z" is supected, but nobody can be sure. This was a really exciting book with lots of action. 3.5 stars out of 5

In Alice Volume 7, Mikan embarks on a mission to find a cure for Hotaru and todiscover the secret wormhole used by Z to escape from campus. But as they finally reveal the wormhole they are greeted by a odd surprise as they meet the guards of the wormhole. This was also a very exciting book with tons of action. Also, the narrative hook got me interested very quickly which was good. 3.5 stars

As Mikan and her friends continue on their mission in Volume 8, they discover Z's secret hideout. Without any time for satisfaction they have to face off against the woman stealing all the student's Alices. This was a pretty good book, but didn't have as good of a plot as the book before. 3 stars out of 5

Title: The Books of Magic
Author: Neil Gaiman

Rating: 1 out of 5

Review: This was a really weird and really boring book about a boy who meets these people who tell him he can do magic. He accepts their offer to show him what magic is like and they take him through the past, present, and future. I didn’t llike this book very much and the artwork was terrible. I don’t recommend this book to anyone.
