Hi, Betsy,

Thanks for the comment.

You can drop by the library anytime and get signed up for Summer Reading. Our first program is on Friday, June 4th at 4:30. We'll be playing Super Smash Bros Brawl, eating pizza and having a good time.

As to setting up a blog, it's easy peasy cheesy-wheezy! I use blogger, but there are several other sites that host blogs for. Just type www.blogger.com into your URL and follow the instructions. You'll be up and blogging in no time!

Best,

Gone
By: Michael Grant

Gone is a book full unimaginable happenings that keep you on the edge of your seat. This book throws new characters and exotic changes in people and animals at you with each turn of the page. The plot is all about a group of kids living in one city trying to survive a time where all of their older siblings over the age of 15 have dissapeared, meaning parents too. The group soon splits up into two teams, good, and evil. I would rate this book a 4 because it's well written and exciting, but very sad.

The Prince of Persia
directed by Mike Newell

The Prince of Persia is a movie that is full of surprises and exciting fighting scenes. I really liked the plot because it included time travel, but it wasn't very confusing. The main characters, Dastan and Tamina are very lovable characters who don't appear to get a long at all, but come to learn about each other, and see that they aren't what they appear at first sight. The ending was very satisfying and concluded just about every detail and ended happily. I would deffinately give it a 5!

Iron Man 2

This is the summer blockbuster event that we have been waiting for. but is this just another movie sequel that is just to make more money? no I am happy to say this is one of the best movies of the year. any comic geek would love this movie. not only does it have action, romance, funny moments, etc., but it sets up the movie for the marvel movie I've been waiting for in 2012: The Avengers, which is pretty much a squad of superheroes that fight... well, evil people. whiplash is in this ilm, avenging his father against the stark family, who stole their glowing chest piece idea. if you loved the first one or your a comic book geek, GO SEE THIS MOVIE.
this movie gets a 4/5

I just finished reading "Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board" by Bethany Hamilton. This book is the story of Bethany, the girl who lost her left arm in a shark attack while surfing a few years ago. She tells the story, but also recalls how her faith and trust in God helped her through the difficult times. This book was amazing! It is the most inspiring book I have read. Ever. I loved how the book included pictures of her surfing, and how she included a mini dictionary of surfing terms. I really didn't dislike anything at all about this book. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this to girls and guys alike! My favorite quote from the book is something Bethany remembers that a close friend told Bethany's mom during Bethany's surgery. It was this bible verse: "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future", Jeremiah 29:11. I thought that this verse would really comfort me if I was in that situation. I mainly loved Bethany's faith in Jesus Christ and how she expressed it in this book, and also how she recalls so vividly the exact seconds of the attack.

Well something worse is on the way and it's up to the living skeleton, Skulduggery Pleasant, and Valkyrie Cain, his partner, to rid the world of pain, misery, darkness, and evil. The sequel to "Twilight" is here at last! Our vampire romance continues to our main characters, but a horrible incident occurs. They are separated to their own ways without willingness, and one of them face shock and desperation. Our book gets more intense as our character who remains in Forks, Washington is still #1 vampire victim, and strangeness occurs to the character's best friend. Ah, our love story continues with Bella, Edward, and possibly Jacob! Vampires and Werewolfs unite. Enemy and enemy working together? Impossible, but true. These two fictional creatures work together to protect Bella from other vampires that thirst for her blood, or maybe, revenge. Having fear, hate, love, humor, and romance all in one book is pretty tiring, but works ok with the readers bringing their book everywhere they go!

I recommend the whole "Little House" series. These books are all about Laura Ingalls Wilder's life, but they are not biographies because she puts it in story form. She is a little girl growing up in the woods. She doesn't have neighbors within 10 miles of them. They move from woods to prairies, and eventually (at the end of the series) a town. It is all about her growing up in the wild country and how they survive without the luxuries we have. 5 out of 5 stars!

The Debutante
By:Kathryn Williams
This book is a really good book. I would really recommend it to anyone. It is about a girl whose grandmother wants her to be a debutante. She just moved to her grandmothers city in the south. She moved there from her hometown in Manhattan. She is really not the girly, fancy type, and she really doesn't want to be a debutante. You will have to read the rest to find out. It is a really realistic book.

Among the Hidden Series
By: Margaret Peterson Haddix
This series is one of my favorite. It is all about the population police predicting that the earth's food would run out. When they predicted that they decided that they needed to lower the earth's population. No one was allowed to have more than two children. Many people broke this law. All the books are from a third child's point of view. I really like these because they were really adventures and fun. I would give this series five stars.

"Eclipse," the third movie in the "Twilight" series was an exciting movie full of action and romance. I used to love the books, but then after the first movie came out, it spoiled it for me. I only saw the other movies because I had invested so much into the series, but I did enjoy this one more than the others. In this movie, Edward (Robert Patterson), is still a hard and stone actor who doesn't show enough emotion. Also, Bella (Kristen Stewart), doesn't seem to know how to act romance scenes. I liked this one better than the others, but everything was basically still the same, so I give it a 3.

"The Last Airbender" is a great movie that is full of action and excitement. This movie is based on the animated TV show on nickelodeon,so it was very different since they used real people. The only thing that bothered me about this movie, was that they misspronounced many of the names that were very important, and also the time it took for the firebenders to gather the fire and toss it at you, someone with a gun could have killed 10 of them. It was a good movie otherwise, and followed the TV series closely. It was about a boy called Aang who is the Avatar meaning he could master all four elements: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. The world has split up into these four nations and is in continual war and has been for the last 100 years. It is told that the Avatar will come and end the war, but he had vanished. I really enjoyed the movie and think it should have been a little longer so they could really have fleshed out the story, but otherwise it was good. I give it a 4.

i give this movie 1 star.

Twilight (the movie)
This movie did not give me the feeling, I don't even know why my eyes were even glued to the screen. This sort of ruined my favoritism for the entire "Twilight Saga"! To me, that movie was a complete disaster because I really couldn't see any of the details from the actual book.
I give this movie 1 star.

Green Day
by: Doug Small of the Omnibus Press

The book Green Day is about the pop-punk rock band Green Day who have many notable Cds and a number of MTV awards and a grammy. The book basically tells the story of Green Day starting off in Oakland , CA in the early 90s when green day was just a band playing small clubs all the way up to early to mid 2005. The book covers the recording process of all the Cds green day has released including their first independent EPs such as 1000 Hours and Sweet Children. The book did not go as in depth as I personally would've liked but was still very good and very informational. Overall I give 4 stars.

Green Day
by:Doug Samll

The book is about the rise of pop punk band Green Day. The was published in 2006 so it does not include information about their newest CD 21st Century Breakdown. The book however was still very good and provided lots of information. However it didn't go as in depth with the band as I'd hoped it would. Overall I give it 4 stars

Slash's new solo album hit stores in mid April this year and in my opinion may be the best album I have heard this year!!! For those who don't know Slash is the respected and renowned lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses, Slash's Snakepit, and most recently Velvet Revolver. On the album Slash plays guitar and invites assorted singers to come do his songs. Almost all of the tracks have different singers and feature singers such as Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother, Kid Rock, Ozzy Osbourne,Fergie, M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold, and Myles Kennedy to name a few. In my opinion every song is a masterpiece but my personal favorites are "Ghost", "I Hold On", and "Starlight". However the most popular and well known song is "By the Sword". I give this album 6 out of 5 stars and I reccomend it to anyone who loves any knid of rock because its all represented on this album.

"Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" directed by David Yates, continues the story of Harry Potter's fight against the Dark Lord. In this movie, Harry's least favorite teacher was given his life long dream job and a new teacher was given his old job. Harry soon begins to suspect Malfoy of aiding you know who, but no one believes him. I give this movie a 4 because it didn't completely stick to the books, and added certain scenes that made no sense and weren't needed.
