Brisingr by Christopher Paolini
Alright so I've just finished reading Brisingr by Christopher Paolini you may have heard of it you may have not. He's the author of Eragon and Eldest maybe you've seen the movie. Anyways, Brisingr is seven hundred and sixty-three pages of d-e-t-a-i-l. This made it a little agonizing while I was reading because the length made it frustrating to focuse (call it A.D.D or A.D.H.D idunno) and at some points I was ready to rip my hair out! Although some detail is important I didn't see the point of having sooooo much of it in one book. Brisingr, however, does continue the story of a young Dragon Rider named Eragon and his dragon, Saphira. This Book brings back some of the old, past characters from the first book like Sloan and Katrina. You also get to know Roran a whole lot better. It does take a while to read (even if you don't stop for three days and read non-stop 'cept for urinal relief and nourishment like I did), but its vital you do in order to get why or why not somethings are going to happen or already happened. There are a few things to discover along the way which reward you after you read a whole chapter describing the forest or sword making (not kidding) so it's beneficial and I do recommend it.
I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

The End (and the rest of the snickett series) by Lemony Snickett
Hello! I'm here to tell you about The Series of Unfortunate Events (I wrote this back on June 11th - ya I know I've got to get better at publishing these things on time, forgive me), but also about one book in the series in particular called The End (very fitting no?) and its by Lemony Snickett. This series has an interesting attention curve - whatever you want to call it. It was good in the beginning then it started to gradually fall, rose again, until it eventually fell - flat on its hard cover of a face - but not hard, though, it more or less floated like a feather dropped down from a tall height down to its book grave, perhaps from a rooftop unless some hooligan boy tried to be funny and tied the feather to a large rock and just chucked it downward not noticing the unsuspecting pedestrian walking by which will by then.......ugh! Sick of meaningless rants? Well you'll have to deal with it because throughout the series Lemony tends to trail off into his own thoughts and tales in the middle of the story. As I said before my purposeful rambling it was okay and made sense in the beginning (where it was brilliant), but then it got old really fast and just using it for suspense was well, cruel. In some of the books it took the characters a while to figure something out contradicting their own intelligence he worked so hard on to mold. Check this out. By the first three or four books you basically notice that Count Olaf (the ultimate bad guy responsible for the Baudelaire orphans' misery) switches the letters of his name along with his disguises - you may not know the name for it(its ''anagram'' by the way), but you know he's doing it, yet it takes Klaus, apparently the most well-read of the three Baudelaires, eight books to figure it out. I do give props to Mr. Snickett, however, for finally mentioning it and doing it when the situation called for it. Now I'm skipping to The End. No, not ''the end'', but The End - the book. Lemony Snickett does speak the truth when he says this series is upsetting and The End proves it, but it is not upsetting enough to make you go crawl in a corner in the fetal position while sucking your thumb as it implies. speaking tuthfully here, the only truely upsetting part is the end of The End. It just didn't satisfy me, I was actually hoping it would end with a BANG! but it ended more like a THUMP! as i closed the book and put it back ont the shelf and wondered why I got myself worked up full of hope hoping for it to be a great ending. Well, the title pretty much says it all - The End. That's it, you can blink now its over...I'm done, sorry if you know it wasn't good...that's all I got. C'mon Lemony, dude, you wrote a flipping thirteen book series and the ending is no pnivom? I mean thats what they do they yawa lais. Well, I can do that, if it was that simple then why didn't they just get over it in the beginning instead of waiting 'til the end? it had me going for a while though, I'll tell you that, but if you wanna save some time (if you still wanna read i) then skip to the end (The End).
I give this series and the book a 2 out of 5 stars

I Am The Wallpaper by Mark Peter Hughes
Yay! More of my rambling! Yeah well today (Jun 20th actually - ya I know al least its closer right?) I finished a book called I Am the Wallpaper by Mark Hughes and I...liked it! Floey, the main character of this novel, is one of those characters you can relate to or wish you were, (I guess I liked it especially because I have a thing for funny, upsetting, adventurous boos with journal/diary entries. If you like what I'm into then that's all you need to know quit reading me and go CHECK IT OUT ALREADY!), but it turns out in this story you just rather be the one to tell it or read it than to actually experience it. This book brings back the meaning of ''evil little cousins and neighborhood 'friend''' to a whole 'nother level. One thing this story gets really into is Zen, thanks to a German cowboy poet (feel free to look it up dear children) and all that Buddah and philosophical asset on life and enlightenment jazz gets me into it even more. It also includes some of the genius lines of Zen, so whenever the moment calls for it you can impress your friends. As soon as you start reading your puled into Floey Packer's Life and how even though she's only been a teen for a couple of weeks its a little bit more thn she's bargained for.
I give this book 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie By David Lubar
Woooooo! Well no big news 'cept I finished another book (*gasp* there's a shocker!) and it was.....HACKING PWNESOME!(''pwn'' prefix signifies more than awesome) This two hundred and seventy-nine paged book of pwnsome-ness is called Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie by David Lubar. If I ever meet this Lubar guy I'm going to hug-tackle him and kiss his genius head of his! And I'm not joking! ''I loved this book!'' said Millena passionately (and that my friends is an example of a Tom Swifty further explained in the book). This book has everything you and I should look for in books. It has intelligence, witty quotes to re-quote, useful information, a main character you completely adore by the end of the book and much more all compacted into one story. But enough of my outside observations lets get into the book. A'ight, so this book is about Scott Hudson and his life during the fist year of high school ( hence the word ''freshmen'' in the title). Once Scott learns about the importance of knowing what to do and what not to do your first year as a ''freshy'' and so begins Scott Hudson's survival guide. He he soon learns that this survival guide will be helpful to the unborn soon to be born (hint hint, nod nod) about his experiences. In it, he writes about everything from intimidating seniors to vengeful sophmores, harmless jocks to clueless ''nots'' and of course Julia. While even discovering his own, personality and physical, transformation throughout the year. You'll find amusement in his fails to get his dream girl and his progression as a writer and a current younger brother. this book will make you want to take notes as you read (or not, you know whatever floats your boat, I'm just a sleep deprived writer in the making typing my meaningless rants about numbered pages with words and a cover on it). There are a few books that make me not want to put them down until I'm done and this is one of them. Scott Hudson might just be the more realistic Edward Cullen of our time, he's not perfect, but that's what makes it more fun.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
P.S Seriously, any Scott Hudson's out there - you have a very....interesting....name hit me up no? (just kidding people just kidding)
