Summer Reading is Over!!!!

Another Summer Reading program has successfully drawn to a close, and we had record turn-outs for several of our programs. We had 210 students sign up, and they read about 1500 books among them. Standout programs were the water balloon war which brought out over 40 teens, the scavenger hunt with 30 teens, the soldering programs which taught 30 teens electronic basics and of course the Game On! video game tournaments that each drew around 40 students.

Congratulations to Michelle, Jeremiah and Cole who were the winners of our top three prizes!

Other notables were Susan, Madeline, Elizabeth, Julian and Esther who all earned over 500 points!!

Great job everyone, and thank you for making the Emmet O'Neal Young Adult Department the coolest place on planet Earth!!!

What's Cooler than Cool? iPad!!

This Friday, July 23rd is the big day. I'll announce the winner of the iPad at the final party at 4:30 on Friday (you do not have to be present to win).

Unfortunately there can be only one winner of our iPad. I wish I could give an iPad to each of you who has worked so hard this summer! Seriously!

We've had fantastic reviews on all sorts of media: books, movies, magazines, music and manga...It's been so cool getting your perspectives on what's hot and what's not. But in the end, only one lucky teen will walk out of the Emmet O'Neal Library with the iPad. Will it be you?
